‘Honest Logos’ by Viktor Hertz
If you’ve noticed a few more Saul Bass things knocking around the internet lately it’s because there is finally a book about him coming out, published by Laurence King. Not sure why it’s taken so long, what with him being one of the most famous and prolific designers of the 20th century! But im sure it is well worth the wait. It has been written by Pat Kirkham and Jennifer Bass, who is the daughter of Saul and a designer too.
It’s published tomorrow I believe, hopefully get my hands on it soon for my dissertation research. Be very handy if it has sections on what helped inspire the style of his posters, movie titles and illustrations. Looks like you can already buy it for a cut price on Amazon! Very tempting.
